The Model 930 vertical grinding machine is a proven design that combines our model 1000 traveling column with a time-tested 5-axes layout to create one robust machine. It’s especially well suited for grinding turbine engine vanes, buckets, shrouds, hangers, panels and fairings. Depending on the size selected, this machine can be used to manufacture anything from small jet engine vanes to large land-based turbine parts. The 930 vertical grinding machine can be set up to handle many applications. Please contact Campbell Grinder Company for an in depth review to match your component needs.

Disk dresserThis option allows for dressing the wheel straight and interpolating a form into the grinding wheel.
Roll form dresserA formed dressing roll allows for the final part form to be dressed into the wheel allowing shorter cycle times.
Spindle power up to 100HP and various RPM options
Wheel balance systemA wheel balancer is necessary when tight tolerances on surface finishes are required. Also, to extend wheel life.
Fire suppression system (for oil coolant)Certain applications require machining in oil. The spark risk is controlled through a fire suppression system. This includes a rapid deployment of the system once heat is detected and blast doors to force the remaining heat upwards and away from the operator. This creates a safe environment to operate in oil under extreme circumstances.
Tool probeChecks the grinding wheel prior to the actual grind process to ensure accuracy.
Milling and drillingMilling and Drilling options are available to add auxiliary machining to the Campbell center.
Gap eliminatorGap elimination allows for the wheel to touch the part in a higher feed rate and then reduce to a feed rate for the specific grind.
Tool and nozzle changerA tool changer is the most requested option. Storing multiple tools allows for many operations to be handled with a single clamping. Tool changers have been supplied with 40+ positions and can change the grinding wheel, Roll dresser, Turning tool, Milling tool, Drilling tool and coolant nozzle for each cycle.
Mist collectorA mist-free zone is required in many applications. Our mist collectors are sized specifically for the enclosure of each machine.
Spindle mounted dresser with optional dress roll changer
Coolant through the toolCoolant through-the-spindle can be quoted for specific drilling/milling applications.
High speed C-axis (rotary table)Faster rotary tables can be quoted for specific applications.
